YOU’RE NEVER ALONE WITH A PAPARAZZO

I suppose if you’re a celebrity, it’s gotta be annoying sometimes to have strangers taking pictures of you as you walk down the street, but maybe it’s not as annoying as all that. Certainly Taylor Swift, op cit, doesn’t always turned her back on the paparazzi.

Equally, as annoyances go, it must be a double-edged sword.  As a celeb you certainly want attention, it’s a matter of wanting the “right kind” of attention.

No doubt there are some who find it a kind a relief when they cease to be an object of general photographic fascination, but I imagine a lot more of them find it a very depressing sign that their star is fading.

I once had some filmic dealings with the actor/director Griffin Dunne who starred in Who’s That Girl  opposite Madonna.  It was at a time when Madonna seemed a good deal more fascinating than she does now, and like some fan boy rube I found myself asking Griffin, “So what’s Madonna really like.”   He said he honestly had no idea, he hadn’t got to know her at all in the course of making the movie, but he said, “I think she must be the loneliest woman in the world.”

Those I’m pretty sure were his actual words, his point being that she was so surrounded by her people, so insulated from real contact, that nobody ever made any kind of personal connection with her.

I suspect that hasn’t changed much.  And she’s still a focus for the paparazzi and I’m sure that if I saw Madonna walking down the street I’d be tempted to raise my Canon.  I realize this wouldn’t make her feel any less lonely.

And yes, I do wonder what on earth’s going on with that right calf of hers in the picture above.

Outfit: Blow a kiss, fire a gun, we need someone to lean on.

Floral playsuit: Dresslink || Squash Blossom necklace, navajo concho belt: Vintage || Tooled bag: Secondhand via eBay || Boots: Gamloong

Are you guys ready for the weekend? I hope you've all got as much luck as I have here in Germany, it's going to be super hot and sunny and I can't wait to spend this Saturday at the lake. I also have this dope tune "Lean On" by Major Lazer stuck in my head all day, it's being played a lot in the radio lately but if you haven't heard it yet - check it out! :) It probably becomes my Summer 2015 radio song, I love its vibes.
Now speaking about my outfit: After taking the pictures I realized that it almost includes only vintage pieces like the Squash Blossom necklace and the concho belt I got from my Mum a couple of years ago. There's nothing better than turquoise jewelry to wear in summer, especially old navajo gems. This tooled bag is probably the best vintage item I've ever purchased. I had been searching for the perfect tooled 70s bag for a very long time until I found this treasure on eBay UK which was still affordable and the most beautiful one I had seen. It's pattern is perfection and so are the different brown shades and its size. I combined everything with this beautiful playsuit I received from Dresslink which is even suitable for colder summer days. It got a gorgeous floral print in pastel green/pink, V-Neck (my favorite kind of neckline!) and bell sleeves. In general flared sleeves or pants are a huge trend this season thanks to my beloved 70s. But I'm thankful for that, I mean - aren't those the cutest ones? To be honest I'm not into wearing flared pants. It's not because I don't like them (they look awesome, really!), I just don't like them on me. It's so hard to find ones which actually fit when you're not 5'8 or taller. :-P

Well enough talk.. Enjoy your weekend, friends - you deserve it. xx

WALKING SWIFTLY

And speaking of walking backwards  (as I was) – this has shown up in the tumblr-o-sphere:

But nah, Taylor arrived at this technique all on her own.
She claimed it was to deter a “snapperazzo."
"I saw the guy with the camera and wasn't in the mood so I hiked the whole trail backwards and my security told me when to make turns."
So a security man, not a fitness instructor.  Though frankly I’d have thought that walking with a security man was a pretty good way to ruin a walk.  So little room for solitude. So little room for reverie.  Rousseau would weep.

THE WANDERING GEOFF

I don’t honestly know what this is about – Googling gets me nowhere - but which of us hasn’t wanted a life that consists of wandering, hiking, and framing crooks?

Outfit: You are the piece of me I wish I didn't need.

Lace dress: Dresslink || Necklace: H&;M || Boots: Urban Outfitters || Concho belt: Vintage via eBay

Red is such an awesome color to wear, especially for dresses. I got this stunning dress in a dark burgundy tone from Dresslink and it immediately reminded me of the gorgeous dresses by Free People. It can be worn in so many ways and there's no difference if you wear it during the day or at a night's out. I combined it with accessories completely in silver, because I think silver fits best the blood red tone. That necklace made it to my top 3 favorite necklaces, I can't stop wearing it - it goes with almost everything! I always love to jazz up unicolored dresses with statement necklaces, huge belts and rings - it makes every outfit a lot edgier and outstanding.

Outfit: Indian spirit.

Fringed hendrix jacket: Spell Designs || Alpaca circle dress: Mr. Gugu || Necklaces: Urban Outfitters & Forever 21 || Boots: Vagabond

Starting the week with a pretty extraordinary look which is probably not that kind of every day fashion you regularly see in the streets, right? I received this cute, colorful dress from Mr. Gugu last week and it immediately makes me think of wearing it with my beloved hendrix jacket - the colors matches so perfectly. I usually dress the jacket a bit down while wearing laid-back styles with denim shorts or ripped jeans and a printed tee - not this time, I went for that outstanding dress. The online shop Mr. Gugu from Poland got so many awesome and edgy prints in different styles which you won't see anywhere else, that's for sure. If you're searching for eye-catchers, the online shop has it all. :-)
Well let's talk about my dress right now: It got that cute aztec prints and a cuuuute Alpaca head in the front. The quality is also amazing and it's pretty suitable for festivals or other parties.
Furthermore I did some necklace layering again and one of the necklaces is probably my most worn one ever - I'm sure you all know it. I've been probably wearing it around 3-4 times every week since I got it, I couldn't live without it anymore. It just fit to everything, I'm sure you know that - do you have any jewelry which is being worn as often as I mine? Let me know and leave a comment below. :-)
