Outfit: Let me love you, new year.

Patchwork faux fur coat: Light In the Box || Sequin slip dress: Zara || Jewelry: Vintage || Boots: Vic Matie

HAPPY NEW YEAR, my dearest readers and friends! Thank you so much for taking part in my journey last year and thank you for living 2016 with me! 2015 is finally history and yes I'm actually glad. I'm positive about 2016 and I hope my wishes and dreams will fulfill in beautiful moments this year. 2016 is hopefully the start of a whole new life for me, new emotions and new friendships. I really do hope 2016 is a new chance full of beautiful experience and adventure lying ahead of me.

I wanted the first outfit for this year very glamorous, glittery and special and this is was my outfit for New Year's Eve yesterday. I'm wearing one of my all time favorite dresses, a slip dress fully embellished with silvery sequins and a mesh layer underneath. I bought it a few years ago at Zara, it's actually a re-make of a Saint Laurent dress I fell in love with. Of course it was so much less expensive! It's my favorite party dress because it's so versatile and special. I combined it with a color popping faux fur coat in patchwork style I received from Light In The Box. It's very cozy and it's multi colored details make it very extraordinary. It slightly got a 70s touch I love. The grey patches also match perfectly with the silver sequins of my slip dress! I added some lace-up platform boots, boho jewelry, classic 20 den tights and the look is complete.

Love & kisses. xx

THE XMAS WALKER

One of the things about walking in my neighbourhood immediately after Christmas is that you see more walkers than usual.  I suspect part of it may be that people have relatives staying with them and don’t know what else to do with them.  Some no doubt think it’s a good for the soul to take a walk at least once a year.  Maybe the odd one has got a new puppy for Christmas and is swiftly realizing what a terrible responsibility that is.

However, my unscientific observation is that this year there were far fewer walkers than usual.  And a man who had acquired a new camera lens for Christmas pretty much had the streets to himself, which was fine but just a little surprising.

Of course Christmas decorations persist for a while after Christmas  – not sure if that Santa is breaking into that upstairs window or breaking out:

And just because a Santa is small that doesn’t mean he isn’t security conscious:

This presiding demon stays in place whatever the season:

But the spirit of good cheer is not universal.  This sign appears on the door of the last house before you get to one of the entrances to Griffith Park, and you can understand the guy’s sentiments whatever the time of year:

And you can never quite escape the John Cage influence, nor would I want to.  Whereas he had mycological expeditions that involved walking deep into the woods, I found these beauties by the side of the road, just a few hundred yards from my own front door.

I took a couple home, tried to identify them, couldn’t altogether, though I suspected they might be the evocatively named Funeral Bells, and even if they weren’t, and even though I’m generally all in favor of Cagean chance operations, I really didn’t want to take a chance on these.  I left them where they were.  Next day walking the same route I saw they were half eaten, though not sure by what – possibly one of the new, though unseen, puppies.

But I think the best thing seen while walking over the holidays was this electronic keyboard left out for the garbage men.  And I wonder what the story was there.  Had Santa brought a brand new one, or had the owner made a resolution, 2016 will be a year without electronic keyboards?

Outfit: I run through the world thinking about tomorrow.

Embroidered mirrored velvet jacket: Vintage via eBay || Nirvana tee: Urban Outfitters || Necklaces: Vintage & Vanessa Mooney || Ripped knee jeans: Zara || Platform Boots: Vagabond

My last outfit post for this year is a casual boho grunge combo I loved to wear two weeks ago when the weather was very warm for the winter months. I'm wearing a vintage tie dye velvet jacket with embroidered and mirrored details, isn't it cool? I bought it secondhand from eBay, sometimes you can find some real bargains and edgy pieces there! I combined it with one of my favorite band tees (I love the snake print!), some ripped denim jeans in a blue vintage wash and the most comfortable platform boots ever. I really dig this outfit, it's so comfortable!

For the title I chose lyrics from a song from one of my favorite Bands The Stone Temple pilots - it's called Dead and Bloated and it's one of those songs I could listen over and over again. (here )

Sooo tomorrow is the last day of 2015, are you excited for 2016? I am and I am also glad that 2015 is finally over. It wasn't my year to be honest and I'm looking forward to all the beautiful moments which will hopefully occur in 2016.
I wish you all a happy new year!!!
xx
