In today's TV news (beside the info that Bryan Fuller will be the showrunner for CBS's new STAR TREK series set for next January) TNT has just added Colm Meaney and Mattias Inwood to Shekhar Kapur's WILL epic series about young William Shakespeare’s (Laurie Davidson) arrival onto the punk rock theatre scene that was 16th century London – the seductive, violent world where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows. It’s described as the hot, contemporary, dangerous version of Shakespeare’s life, played to a modern soundtrack, exposing all his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance. Meaney will play the carpenter who built the first theatre in London after Roman Times. Dashing Mattias Inwood (whom you are watching in SHANNARA CHRONICLES) will play his son who together with WILL forms the greatest actor-writer partnership the world has ever seen.

'DUMB PRINCE' COMEDY SERIES

NICO EVERS SWINDELL AND TIM BALTZ TO LEAD THE CAST
Over at NBC they are casting the lead roles for their upcoming new comedy series DUMB PRINCE coming from Amy Poehler. GRIMM's Nico Evers Swindell will lead it! As 'Deadline' reports the comedy is set in the country of Modaria, known for the manufacture of mopeds and tiny cars, where the Faber family has ruled for generations. Evers Swindell will play Prince Karl (known as THE DUMB PRINCE –not affectionately) who returns home from a year’s exile in America after having passed out at the coronation of his seemingly hapless father, King Adrian. Tim Baltz will play Prince Marco, the second son of Modaria’s ruling family, and Jessie Ennis will play Princess Jana, the youngest child of the royal family.

Now, you know we don't do much crime shows here at the HOLLYWOOD SPY's but this is Hiddles we're talking about, so I'm sure you will understand! Earlier this weekend BBC has unleashed the first trailer for their upcoming new seriesTHE NIGHT MANAGER starring our dearest ever Tom Hiddleston! The small screen adaptation of John Le Carre's novel will air in UK next month and in USA in April with a rather stunning cast which besides Hiddles also includes another of our beloved faves Russell Tovey, then Hugh Laurie, Tobias Menzies, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood and Katherine Kelly.

The six episode mini series, which is to premiere first at Berlin Film Festival this year, the first television adaptation of a le Carré novel in more than 20 years, will bring together love, loss and revenge in a complex story of modern criminality. The eagerly anticipated series follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) who is recruited by an intelligence operative named Burr (Olivia Colman) to navigate the shadowy recesses of Whitehall and Washington where an unholy alliance operates between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. To infiltrate the inner circle of lethal arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie), which includes girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki) and an associate named Corcoran (Tom Hollander), Pine must himself become a criminal.

Their strong-willed mother (Debra Winger) owns a bar and temporarily lives in a trailer behind it while she figures out her marriage.

A treat for all you lovers of epic stuff - Starz has released the first trailer for the second season of their popular historical series OUTLANDER based on Diana Gabaldon's bestselling saga. The epic drama returns to the small screens in spring next year with Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and his flimsy adulteress wife Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) leaving Scotland to escape the tragic events that happened to them and going over to the 18th century France to seek help in their fight to win freedom for Jamie's homeland and stop the battle at Culloden.

A TRIP TO PARIS 
Judging from the trailer, the second run of OUTLANDER will bring us many glitzy settings at lavish palaces and courts of Paris, with silk swirling all around in many magnificent colourful costumes and gowns. As I reported before a number of stars has joined the new season with Stanley Weber playing Comte St Germain the main rival of Jamie's cousin who is the leading wine seller in France. Lionel Lingelser will wear the crown as King Louis XV with whom Jamie and Claire will cross paths trying to get money in order to support the Jacobite rebellion. VICIOUS star Frances de la Tour will play Mother Hildegarde, woman who comes from an aristocratic and well-connected family. When Claire begins volunteering at L'Hopital des Anges, she encounters and soon earns the respect of Mother Hildegarde. Andrew Gower will be Prince Charles Stuart who wants the throne, while Margaux Chatelier will play an old flame of Jamie's.

Two trailers for you today, starting with the first teaser for Nordic epic movie BIRKEBEINERNE which hits Nordic cinemas next February and has just been bought for US distribution as THE LAST KING. The film stars Jakob Oftebro (Kon-Tiki) and Kristofer Hivju (Game Of Thrones) as medieval warriors who embark on a perilous journey through the snowy and icy Norwegian mountains to take their dying king’s infant son to safety and save the throne from the evil Bishop. As I told you before, also starring Pål Sverre Hagen and Thorbjørn Harr, and set at the beginning of the 13th century this epic adventure brings the story of the greatest flight which changed Norwegian history forever.
