'VAN HELSING' SF SERIES

 KELLY OVERTON LEADS THE CAST

TV news for you this Sunday, starting with the cast round up for SyFy's new epic series VAN HELSING! Kelly Overton will lead the 13 episode drama which follows Vanessa Helsing, a descendent of the Van Helsing lineage of warriors who now must lead mankind against a world controlled by vampires in the post-Rising landscape.

Jonathan Scarfe will play Axel, a career Marine with unwavering devotion and loyalty to both duty and his wards, despite years of isolation and endless vampire attacks. Christopher Heyerdahl will play Sam, a survivor of the vampire Rising, who relies on his strength and observational skills to stay alive. David Cubitt is John, another survivor of the vampire Rising, whose actions are fuelled by anger, prejudice, suspicion and fear. Paul Johansson is Dimitri, a vampire turned before the Rising, he is now the patient and calculating leader of the vampires. Tim Guinee will play Ted, a vampire foot soldier who does battle with Vanessa and conceals a tragic past. Production starts tomorrow for Fall airing.

NBC SITCOM PILOTS UPDATES 

STOCKARD CHANNING TO LEAD 'ME AND MEAN MARGARET'

Meanwhile, when it comes to multi camera sitcoms, always delightful Stockard Channing is to lead NBC's new sitcom pilot ME AND MEAN MARGARET which will follow a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress, and the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her.

'MARLON' FINDS HIS LADIES

NBC is also rounding up the cast for their sitcom MARLON! Loosely inspired by Marlon Wayan’s life, it centres on an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife. TRUTH BE TOLD's Bresha Webb will play his biggest enemy, his ex wife's best friend. Essence Atkins will play the ex wife, a type-A interior designer by trade and something of a control freak who did one reckless and spontaneous thing in her life: fell in love with Marlon.

Promo art coming to you today for two of SyFy's upcoming new series! Both shows are to air probably Autumn next year with castings for the first one yet to start. VAN HELSING is coming from Neil LaBute, with a female hero! It will be told from the point of view of Dr Abraham Van Helsing's daughter Vanessa Helsing, who is resurrected five years into the future after a long sleep in the world that has been overrun by vampires, leaving Vanessa Helsing as the last hope for humanity's survival.

AGAINST VAMPIRES  
The 13 episodes will see her leading the Resistance across the Wasteland, in the former America, in search of the hole in the sky in Colorado because the uninterrupted sun there is as strong as the vampire's bite and they could harness its power to fight the vampires!  Along the way they will come across human fortresses and vampire strongholds - some friendly, most not.

'WYNONNA EARP' TV SERIES 

WYATT'S GRANDDAUGHTER

The other one comes from the creators of KILLJOYS and it already has its cast! WYNONNA EARP will follow Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter Wynonna as she battles demons and other supernatural beings and uses her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice! Melanie Scrofano will play Wynonna, Tim Rozon is legendary con artist Doc Holliday, while Shamier Anderson is going to be the mysterious Agent Dolls.

AGAINST DEMONS    
After years on the run and in juvenile detention, Wynonna Earp is finally returning home. The only problem is no one back home wants her to return. TV news today, starting with the super exciting ones coming from BBC who will turn Philip Pullman's epic fantasy novels HIS DARK MATERIALS into TV series. The story, already adapted into GOLDEN COMPASS movie eight years ago, follows two children, Lyra Belacqua and Will Parry, as they travel through various parallel universes and meet a host of fantastical creatures including witches and armoured polar bears.

Meanwhile, after closing down DOMINION and DEFIANCE, SyFy will fill the empty space with new VAN HELSING series! Coming from Neil LaBute, the story will, unlike the brilliant movie with Hugh Jackman, have a female hero! 'KOSEM SULTANA'

After showing you a number of Turkish language teasers for Star TV and Tims Production's incredibly lavish epic series MAGNIFICENT CENTURY: KOSEM I finally have for you an exciting new trailer for it with English subtitles! Check it out below together with some new
photos depicting some of the characters that will appear in the ambitious historical saga following the life of Sultana Kosem, one of the key figures in the so called Sultanate of Women, a period in Ottoman history during which ladies were ruling the empire. Great excitement and anticipation surrounds the airing of the first episode which is scheduled for Thursday next week, November 12th after a very long wait!
